About Me

My name is Heidi and I have been a teacher for five years. Within that short period of time I have taught in urban, suburban, and rural communities in both Michigan and Georgia, where I am currently teaching. I teach Biology and Chemistry and absolutely love the challenge of teaching the difficult material to students by making it hands-on, fun, and sometimes really gross -- high schoolers love gross things.

I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Biology from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota. Go Gusties! Immediately afterward, I started a Master of Arts in Teaching program through the University of Southern California for Secondary Science Education. Their program launched my into the world of education and I have never looked back.

I currently live in Georgia with my wonderful husband, Allen, who will make an appearance from time-to-time on here. We live in a cosy little apartment with our two cutie cats, Lora and Kata.

Aside from teaching, I also love football (Go Packers!) perhaps a little too much, cooking, baking, and gaming! We love to spend our weekends relaxing with board games and coffee with our friends, or watching the occasional movie. We both also love video games and can often be found playing on our computers when we have the time to relax.

Curious about something? Have a random question for me or Allen? Read our posts and comment back! Thanks so much!
